Measuring operating temperatures of electrical devices can be dangerous without the right test equipment. Personnel may get injured while testing if the temperature of the device suddenly increases and gets out of control. A safe way to measure temperatures of devices that could be explosive or have a tendency to burn is by using an infrared thermometer. This device allows you to measure temperature accurately from a safe distance without having you put the device in contact with the test sample.
A widely used thermometer is the Fluke 66 infrared thermometer. It can measure temperatures from -25 degrees Fahrenheit to 1100 degrees Fahrenheit. You can adjust it to display the readings in Fahrenheit or in Celsius. It has laser guiding system to help you in determining the center of the measurement area. This tester also has a back-lit LCD screen for easy viewing even on dim places. It is powered by a 9 volt battery that can last up to 40 hours.
The Fluke 66 infrared thermometer is available for rent through Protec equipment resources. We also offer Fluke power testing tools and other high voltage test equipment. Give us a call for more information on our test equipment rental.
