Protec Equipment Resources is looking for an Account Specialist to join our team. This position is a critical part of the process to get equipment to the customer when they need it and at the highest level of quality.
General Description
The Account Manager’s role is to develop business opportunities by responding efficiently to customer inquiries and by aligning customers with the proper equipment and solutions for their electrical testing equipment needs. Primary duties include inbound and outbound calling, email communication, order fulfillment, logistics coordination, and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, assist existing and potential customers during their evaluation process, create quotes, enter new customer accounts, coordinate with Territory Managers and Operations teams and close sales
- Resolve customer issues and conflicts as it pertains to shipping, equipment failures, billing, etc.
- Handle all aspects of an order from order input through billing
- Be available to handle after-hours and weekend on-call rotation
- Determine best shipping method for on-time delivery of shipments locally, nationally, and sometimes globally
- Consistent communication with the Operations team to ensure orders are conveyed promptly
- Initially Troubleshoot equipment issues and document all quality issues
- Create reports for Customer’s (On-Rent Reports, Item Rental History Reports, and Customer Spend Reports)
- Ensure purchase orders for rentals and purchases are obtained and are accurate
- Follow up with customer on late payments
- Provide input on equipment purchases and report any industry changes you see for equipment needed
- Keep management informed by maintaining accurate customer and pipeline records
- Provide customers with product information and documentation as requested
- Collaborate with the Territory Manager to assist customers and grow revenue of all Protec business lines within a territory and companywide
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Account Representative Supervisor

- Sales or customer service experience in B2B
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Exchange
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Knowledge of and experience with electrical theory, electrical contracting, and/or electrical test equipment

General Description:
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and achieving the Sales objectives and goals of Protec in their region by growing sales of the Protec electrical test and measurement equipment rental, sales and calibration services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales plan to meet company sales goals across all business lines (equipment rental, sales, calibration services)
- Customer prospecting, communication, and selling via phone, video meetings, and in-person customer meetings.
- Attend tradeshows and customer events
- Customer presentations
- Work with the Sales Manager to oversee sales, pricing, inventory, promotions, etc.
- Assist Inside Salespeople with executing a plan to deliver on objectives and goals.
- Resolve escalated customer complaints and service issues.
- Oversee quote and order activity for the territory.
- Maintain and display Protec’s guiding principles
- Manage and monitor budget for travel expenses in region
Required Qualifications:
- Three + years of outside sales experience
- Willingness to travel 50% or more
- Strong communications skills and excellent customer service
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Creative problem-solving skills and strategic thinker
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work well in teams
- Reside within the Sales Territory
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (preferred)
- Experience in the Power Generation Industry
- Experience work for or selling to NETA testing companies
- Commercial Rental Equipment sales experience
- Reside within 60 miles of the Protec local office

This position is a critical part of the process to get equipment to the customer when they need it and at the highest level of quality.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Test, troubleshoot and perform component level restoration repairs of electro-mechanical test equipment to component level. Not limited to but include the following manufactures: Megger, Fluke, Doble, High Voltage Inc. HV Diagnostics, Omicron, AEMC, Siemens, ABB, Eaton, Hipotrionics, Vanguard, ETI etc
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair often without supporting documentation such as schematics or wiring diagrams.
- Proper tracking and documentation of labor and materials associated with repair.
- Work to establish relationships with equipment manufacturers to support Protec’s repair and maintenance efforts.
- Clean, Move, Pack and ship equipment when required.
- Utilize company software system to input data necessary to manage inventory.
- Maintain lab, tools and storage areas in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain all shop equipment in good, safe working order.
- Assist in quality control and safety programs.

Technical Competencies:
- Electronic Theory with repair and adjustment techniques for test and measurement equipment.
- Be able to fill out documentation
- Proficient in interpreting data derived from testing in order to determine acceptable testing parameters
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of component level repair experience.
- Skilled in Soldering, SMT preferred.
- Experience with troubleshooting and restoring electrical measurement equipment to factory levels.
- Good driving record with the ability to drive a company vehicle
- Have or willing to obtain First Aid/ AED/ CPR Cert.
- Be able to pass drug and background checks
