I received a call in our Chicago office from someone that was trying to find cable that was buried in concrete. To keep it interesting he informed me that the concrete was reinforced with rebar, there was no hard fault in the cable, and that he had never done testing but he did understand the issue.
I knew we had the equipment he needed and I knew that he was nearby, but I didn’t have the field experience to help him and he didn’t have the technical background to explain the issue.
Fortunately his tech was coming back to the office so I drove the equipment down to them, we called our application support team in Texas, and they talked them through how to use the machine and what to expect on the job.
Three days later the equipment was back, the end customer was happy, and we all learned something from the experience.
