Primary Current Injection is routinely used for testing protective devices in low voltage applications, such as low voltage AC circuit breakers.  It is the most comprehensive technique available to verify the electrical operation condition of these devices to ensure they perform within acceptable design tolerances.  Traditionally this type of testing has been time consuming and manually intrusive for the user.

This presentation, co-hosted by Protec Equipment Resources and Megger, will discuss how modern primary injection techniques using the Megger SPI225 facilitates quick and efficient primary injection testing of low voltage circuit breakers.  Automated testing software, digital user-interactive controls and new developments help to achieve this process.  We will also cover recommendations to overcome additional challenges experienced when performing primary current injection procedures.

Additionally, Protec will conduct a primary injection test using the Megger SPI225 to demonstrate the instrument’s operation and seamless usability.
