Performing resistance measurement of a grounding system ensures that the grounding rod has good contact with the earth. The resistance of the grounding system to the earth may be affected by several factors like dry ground, partially uprooted stake, corroded connections and broken ground leads.
One of the fastest and convenient method of measuring ground resistance is by using the clamp method. Instead of using multiple leads or poles, the device has a jaw that can be clamped around the ground rod, giving a resistance reading in a few seconds, saving time and making diagnostics faster.
The AEMC 6416 Clamp-On Ground Resistance Tester includes a high sensitivity measurement function enabling measurement of leakage current flowing to ground or circulating in ground loops from 0.2mA to 40A and resistances from 0.01 to 1500Ω.
It also offers battery life information at power-up and Auto Power OFF power management. The Buzzer and Auto Power OFF features may be disabled at any time.
