Megger’s DET4 Family of Digital Ground Testers

  • Uncategorized

The DET4 series is Megger’s family of digital ground testers that offer a reliable and accurate solution for your soil resistivity and ground rod diagnostic needs. These testers come complete with test leads, terminal adaptors, stakes and batteries. These testers have an Ingress Protection 54 rating which makes them suitable for outdoor testing. They are easy to use, allow 2,3 or 4  point tests, have a simple single button operation and are durable enough to withstand the harsh conditions of field diagnostics.

The DET4 series of ground testers also feature automatic checking of the P and C spikes if they are properly connected.  They also include a voltmeter that lets you measure the ground voltage. Read on for a comparison of the different models. This can help you choose the best tester that suits your needs.

Megger DET4TD2 Digital Ground Tester

The DET4TD2 ground tester allows multi-point testing of grounds and has an internal noise suppression circuit for accurate test results even in high EMI environments.

Features

  •        Measures ground resistance from 0.01 Ω up to 20 kΩ
  •        Can measure ground voltages up to 100 Volts
  •        Large LCD display and thumb-sized buttons for easy operation
  •        Selectable 2 ,3 or 4 point testing modes
  •        Internal noise suppression circuit rejects noise up to 40 Volts peak to peak
  •        Powered by 8 AA batteries
  •        100 Volts CAT IV compliant
  •        Selectable 25 or 50-Volt output for IEC 61557-5 compliance

Megger DET4TR2 Digital Ground Tester

This Megger meter is similar with the DET4TD2 but can be powered by rechargeable batteries. This reduces the need to purchase a lot of batteries to ensure continuous operation. It has a built-in charging circuit so you can charge the batteries directly on the DET4TD2.

  •        Powered by 8 AA rechargeable batteries
  •        Built-in charging circuit with AC/DC power adapter
  •        100 Volts CAT IV compliant
  •        Selectable 25 or 50-Volt output for IEC 61557-5 compliance

Megger DET4TC2 Digital Ground Tester

The  DET4TC2 has a large rotary switch and one-press button which allows easy operation even with gloved hands. It also has a selectable test frequency and output voltage for custom tests on various ground configurations. This tester can also conduct tests using the Attached Rod Technique. This gives you some of the advantages of clamp-on testing but remains true to the methodology and theory of fall-of-potential testing.
