Locate Cable Problems with the Hipotronics TDR1130A
A TDR or time domain reflectometer locates cable problems by injecting a short rise time electrical pulse into the cable. Irregularities in the cable will cause fluctuations in its impedance and reflect a portion of the test signal back to the device. A good cable should allow the signal to be received on the far end without reflecting a part back to the TDR. The TDR measures the distance by measuring the time the echo was received and internally calculating it. This gives you the capability to locate exactly what part of the cable is damaged.
The Hipotronics TDR1130A is a TDR that features an accurate detection of faults within inches. You can store up to 16 test results with its internal memory storage. It is constructed with a sturdy case to handle the harsh conditions of field testing. It also has the capability to integrate with popular thumpers or impulse generators.
